Technical consulting for people who build with AI

You build the product. I lay solid technical foundations.

I define the architecture and the stack, prepare a starter codebase built around your project, and review the product before go live. I bring over ten years in software development and five in application security to the decisions that can leave a product fragile, hard to maintain or risky to publish.

Luca Di Domenico, technical consultant for products built with AI

Claude Code can write the code. It cannot take responsibility for your technical decisions.

Claude Code and Codex can generate features quickly that look correct on the surface, but they cannot take responsibility for the architecture, the permissions, the protection of your data or the production configuration. That is where the most expensive mistakes usually start: the wrong stack, a fragile database structure, authentication handled badly or an architecture that is hard to maintain.

You don't know which stack to choose

Frameworks, databases, hosting and third-party services all look equivalent, but every choice has consequences for the product.

The project grows without a structure

The application works in the early stages, then becomes progressively harder to change, test and release.

You want to catch mistakes before launch

You have built the product, and you want a technical review before putting it in users' hands.

More generated files will not move the project forward. A clear technical direction to build on will.

The foundations of the project

A technical foundation designed around the product you want to build

Software architecture

Definition of the main components, flows, responsibilities and integrations of the system.

Stack selection

A reasoned choice of frontend, backend, database, authentication, hosting and third-party services.

Technical documentation

A working document with decisions, constraints, structure, conventions and the instructions Claude Code or Codex will have to follow.

Tailored starter codebase

A project set up and configured with the foundations you need, ready for you to start building features on.

Security setup

I define the initial choices around authentication, authorization, data handling, secrets, APIs and environment configuration.

Architecture, documentation and codebase are all defined around your product, never pulled from a generic template.

The path

From the first analysis to the review before go live

01

We analyze the product

We start from the users, the features, the constraints and what you want to bring to market.

02

I define architecture and stack

I choose the technical foundations that fit best and document the main decisions.

03

I prepare the project foundation

You get the technical documentation and a starter codebase configured to be used with Claude Code or Codex.

04

You build, with weekly meetings

You implement the product on your own, and in a weekly call we work through questions, decisions and problems that come up.

05

Technical and security code review

Before you publish, I review the most critical areas of the code and the configuration to spot obvious mistakes, inconsistent decisions and the main application risks.

Timing and the number of weeks depend on the project and are set out in the proposal, after I review your application. The review included in the consulting does not amount to a penetration test or a full security audit.

Consulting gives you a technical direction. Development stays in your hands.

Included
  • Initial product analysis
  • Software architecture
  • Stack selection
  • Technical documentation
  • Tailored starter codebase
  • One weekly call
  • One technical and security code review before go live
Not included by default
  • Building the features on your behalf
  • Day-to-day project management
  • Fixing every problem identified
  • Ongoing maintenance after launch
  • A guarantee that no bugs or vulnerabilities exist

When the project needs me to work directly on the code, that work is scoped and quoted separately.

This consulting is right for you if...

It might not be right if

You want to hand off development entirely, or you are still looking for someone to teach you the basics of agentic coding tools. In the first case the right path is software development, in the second it is 1:1 training.

Which path is right for you?

Software development

You want to hand off the product

You trust me with the design, the development and the technical responsibility.

Frequently asked questions

The answers to the most common questions before applying for the consulting.

No. The service is designed for people who want to implement the product on their own. I can step in directly on request, but that work is scoped and quoted separately.

The structure depends on the project. It includes the technical foundations we agree on, the initial configuration and the conventions you need to keep developing with Claude Code or Codex.

There is one call a week for the whole duration of the consulting.

The duration depends on the complexity of the product and on where you are starting from. It is defined after I review your application.

No. The review is there to surface obvious technical problems and the main risks before launch, but it does not replace extensive testing, penetration tests or specialist audits.

In that case the better fit is probably the 1:1 training, which starts from the basics and teaches a complete method.

Want to build on your own without improvising the foundations?

Tell me about the product you want to build and where you are right now. I will assess whether technical consulting is the right path.
